Isabel pioneered the Public Art movement in the UK, acting as agent for Eastern Arts encouraging and advising on the use of the Arts Council’s Works of Art in Public Places funding scheme. James Layte was brought up in Cornwall and came to Norwich to read Art History at UEA in 1971. He has lived and worked in Norfolk ever since, as an art and antique dealer. James moved to Aylsham with Gillie in 2014.

Co-founder and director of Galley Beggar Press, an independent publishing company based in Norwich publishing the best books that the big guys have missed. Henry also runs the Book Hive in Norwich. Henry is a playwright and actor whose work has been performed across the UK and abroad both by others and his own theatre company, Rank Taxi.

This team is responsible for coordinating the choice of films for screenings and their purchase and licensing.
The members of this team coordinate all financial matters. This is the core team working to raise money from trusts, foundations, companies, organisations and members of the public to secure the future of Aylsham Picture House.
This team will stage-manage our events.
We need the help of volunteers to make our screening evenings and special themed events run smoothly. We want to make them memorable and enjoyable so that fellow residents, their friends and families will want to come back time and again.

Our committee meets on a regular basis and is made up of residents of Aylsham and the surrounding area. This group of people are all non-paid volunteers who are now embarking on creating a series of pop-up events with the help of other volunteers from our community.
